Last Friday, July 23, a mother taking her child to the Music Together Center in Park Slope, which has classes that, according to the center’s website, “build on your child’s natural enthusiasm for music and movement,” had her purse stolen sometime between 11:15 a.m. and noon.
According to a report filed in the Park Slope precinct, Lauren Berman of St. Mark’s Street put her purse on a chair at the beginning of the class and found it missing afterwards. Inside the purse was a wallet containing several credit cards, about $10 in cash, and $130 worth of gift cards from The Gap, Bloomingdale’s, and J. Crew.
Most of the other people at the class were other parents. The unidentified thief is still at large.
