Evidently still in a snit even after apologizing for multiple uses of the “n-word” on her radio show, Dr. Laura Schlessinger announced tonight that she will not renew her talk radio contract, which expires later this year.
Schlessinger made her announcement during an interview on CNN’s Larry King Live. She said she was done with radio and getting out so she could “regain my First Amendment rights.”
Schlessinger also indicated that she feels as though she can’t speak her mind without “some special interest group deciding this is the time to silence a voice of dissent” via protests made to sponsors of her program. Schlessinger, who holds Ph.D. in physiology, said she will explore new venues where she “could say my peace and not have to live in fear anymore.”
