Republican sources expect the slow fadeout from senate chamber into judges robes for state Sen. Phil Haines (R-Mount Holly) to come sometime in late September or early October.
A few names keep circulating among those most likely to succeed Haines.
The list always starts with Lockheed Martin arms manufacturer Chris Myers of Medford, a former mayor who lost in his 2008 congressional campaign against U.S. Rep. John Adler (D-Cherry Hill).
Assemblywoman Dawn Addiego and Assemblyman Scott Rudder are also contenders, as are blue-to-red Freeholder Chris Brown and Evesham Mayor Randy Brown.
If Addiego or Rudder moves up to assume Haines’ seat, either one of the two Burlington County Browns could become a next-cycle assembly candidate.
