Morning Coffey

Sean Coffey sent out an email to supporters late last night, with a new TV ad he’s rolling out today.

The ad plays up Coffey’s outsider status, which has been a recurring theme of his campaign so far.

Without the institutional support of some of his rivals, Coffey is counting on ads like this–funded mostly from the money he’s personally poured into the campaign–to help close the gap.

He joins Kathleen Rice as the only two candidates up on the air so far, though Eric Schneiderman has an ad that’s waiting in the wings (on the web).
