O’Toole to step down as chair of GOP chairs

State Sen. Kevin O’Toole (R-Cedar Grove) will step down next month as chair of the Republican county chairs.

The GOP chairs of the state’s 21 counties plan to elect a new chair on Sept. 7th at their annual meeting at the Hyatt Regency in Princeton.

“As promised, I served one two-year term and will now fully focus on  the all important redistricting effort,” O’Toole wrote to fellow GOP leaders. “I will remain as Chair of the Essex GOP. It was my honor  to serve you  during this exciting time.”

O’Toole in 2008 succeeded Ocean County GOp Chairman George Gilmore as chair of the Republican county chairs.
