Tight at the Top: People Wins Circ By a Nose, In Touch Scares Us Weekly

This morning Keith Kelly drilled down into Audit Bureau of Circulation numbers for the celebrity weeklies from the first half of the year. People is still the country’s widest-circulating weekly by a nose (32,000 copies), and In Touch has been making serious gains on second-place Us Weekly. The title was regularly moving well over 1 million copies during Janice Min’s tenure, and circulation now is closer to 800,000.

The May 10 issue of People — with Sandra Bullock and her recently adopted baby on the cover — sold 2,225,000 copies off the newsstand. ABC will release complete set of ciruclation data from the first half of the year on August 9.
