A reader passed along this page from today’s Daily News, which features an advertisement at the bottom for a CUNY program offering free immigration services and advice. The program appears to be brought to you thanks to efforts by council member Larry Seabrook.
Only problem is, of course, Seabrook, often called “Cash-And-Carry Larry,” is facing federal charges for, among other things:
- Funneling $322,800 to his girlfriend through bogus non-profits.
- Expensing a bagel and diet soda for $177
- Collecting a $50,000 bribe from a Bronx businessman
- Siphoning $44,000 from his North East Bronx Community Democratic Club
If convicted, Seabrook faces up to 20 years in prison. According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, no court date has been set.
