Three Matches You Need to Watch, Day 4

There are three matches we’re really looking forward to today, and they’re all potential-upsets. We’ll give you our favorites:

Nikolay Davydenko v. Richard Gasquet, early afternoon, Grandstand: There was once a time (three years ago) when Roger Federer called the handsome Frenchman Gasquet a promising young talent. Then injuries, questionable passion for the game and a cocaine-incident derailed all that. He won his first Grand Slam match since the Australian Open 2009 when he won on Tuesday. Let’s see if he has anything left in the tank and can pull of an upset.

Robin Soderling v. Taylor Dent, mid-afternoon, Grandstand: Dent killed the ball in his first match. Soderling, the no. 5 player in the world, looked sluggish in his first. Lots of upset potential here as Dent takes to his favorite court.

Jelena Jankovic v. Mirjana Lucic, late afternoon, Armstrong: Another fun match with upset potential. Lucic won her first Open match in 11 years on Tuesday. It’s a pretty awesome story. Jankovic, a former no. 1, looked sluggish in her first match. Lots of upset potential, and you’ll see fans (including me) pulling for Lucic.
