Got an inkling that your husband or girlfriend might be carrying on an outside affair? A new Android app will nab the culprit.
The New York Times‘ Nick Bilton profiles Secret SMS Replicator, an app that, once installed on a phone, hides in the background and sends out a copy of every trystful text and sext to the person who installed it.
“This app is certainly controversial,” said Zak Tanjeloff, chief executive of the app’s creator, DLP Mobile, “but can be helpful to people in relationships where this type of monitoring can be useful.”
It’s apps like these that make Bits Blogger Nick Bilton feels lucky to be an iPhone guy. “Creepy Android App secretly forward SMS’s & makes me appreciate the Apple approval process,” he tweeted.
We can all appreciate a world in which Steve Jobs, not our significant others, is the one judging us.
