Former News Corp. Executive Named Miramax CEO

Picture 2 4 0 Former News Corp. Executive Named Miramax CEOMike Lang, who left News Corp. in February after six years with the company, will step into the CEO position at Miramax, The Wrap reports. Lang has also spent time at The Walt Disney Company, which sold the film studio to Los Angeles billionaire Ron Tutor for $660 million in July.

During his time at News Corp., Lang rose to an executive vice president role and was instrumental in acquiring Myspace and Hulu. 

Miramax Films was founded in 1979 by Bob and Harvey Weinstein. It has a long history of supporting independent filmmakers and releasing movies deemed unmarketable by major studios.
