It’s Free to Look: A Contemporary Makeover for Don Draper’s West Village Neighbors [SLIDESHOW]

A flash of Don Draper’s checkbook sent fan-girls and -boys running over to 104 Waverly Place for a peek at the Mad Men anti-hero’s fictional bachelor pad. No such address exists.

For those more interested in the present reality, an interesting renovation is under way on the same block. The 1840 Greek Revival-style townhouse at 109 Waverly Place has been completely reimagined by high-end contemporary renovation specialists Turrett Collaborative. Turrett’s recent conquests include the innovative 2 North Moore and 13 Leroy Street. Prudential Douglas Elliman brokers Eileen Foy and George van der Ploeg have now given the Real Estate Desk an exclusive look inside.

Upon reviewing their handiwork, the $18.9 million asking price looks less crazy. And Don’s 1960s look has become a lot less elegant by compare.

Eat your heart out, Matthew Weiner.
