Jimmy McMillan, the founder and leader of the Rent Is Too Damn High Party, by most accounts stole the show at last night’s debate, leading even Andrew Cuomo’s running mate to declare him the winner.
But the party will have a ways to go before they can become a major statewide force. According to Board of Elections numbers, the statewide registration for the Rent Is Too Damn High Party is a mere three people. By comparison, there are 5,789,432 Democrats. Besides McMillan, the party lists one registered member in Oneida County, and another in Tioga County.
Still, it was an impressive showing by McMillan, and will perhaps lead to surge in numbers.
