For the December issue of Vogue, Annie Leibovitz went behind the scenes at the Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark musical, now expected to debut on Broadway in January. The issue hits stands next week but you can see the photos over at the Vogue website now.

The photos have a sci-fi fashion-shoot-meets-intense-Photoshop-filter feel. Notably, one of the shots includes a backdrop of a semi-constructed set.

Spider-Man's girlfriend Mary Jane is being menaced by some villain in three out of the four photos in which she appears. Geez, M.J., even Lois Lane put some time aside to win the Pulitzer.
