According to his office, the inaugural events include a private swearing-in at the Executive Mansion on New Year's Eve, a working executive staff meeting early on New Year's Day, followed by a small inauguration ceremony in the Governor's Reception Room in the state Capitol and a public receiving line at the Executive Mansion.

Says Gov-elect Cuomo, "This is not a time for the grand and expensive celebrations of the recent past, it is the time to return dignity, integrity, and performance to state government and begin making real progress for the people of this great state. That means we go to work on the very first day with a focus on renewing New Yorkers' faith in government."

Cuomo notes that both attorney-general elect Eric Schneiderman and comptroller Tom DiNapoli will be sworn in that day, although as reported here DiNapoli will be holding a celebration later in New York City so as not to overlap with the Jewish Sabbath.
