But will the snooty Fifth Avenue neighbors likewise welcome the pasta and pizza king? The 18-story Emery Roth building on 74th Street has been home to Woody Allen, AIG founder Cornelius Vander Starr and noted socialite Dorris Carr Bonfigli, but it may be time for a dash of oregano.

Since starting as a small Italian grocer in Bensonhurst in the 1950s, the Sbarro empire has oozed from Moscow to Israel. The company has remained headquartered in Long Island, where Mr. Sbarro and his wife, Annunziatina, list their current address. Mario Sbarro, son of the company's founder, served as its chief executive, but no longer sits on the management team, according to the company's Web site.

The 11th-floor unit with a pretty sweet museum-adjacent location belonged to the late Susan Alcalay and sold for the original listing price. The decor, however, is best described as medieval. "This classic estate awaits your tender loving care," says the listing by Brown Harris Stevens' Burt Savitsky and Jessica Savitsky. We know what that means.
