Next week the Coen Brothers' True Grit remake hits theaters and, despite it being a rehash of an earlier film, reviews have been favorable. Much as we advocate originality and deplore the lack of new ideas in Hollywood, it must be said that remakes are occasionally quite good—sometimes even better than the original.
