Launched in 2007, TargetSpot aims to help advertisers target specific listeners on internet radio. The company has inked deals with Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Radio, CBS Radio, Tribune Broadcasting and Emmis Broadcasting.
Earlier this week USV led a $10 million investment in Soundcloud, a sort of Youtube for audio files, and its clear managing partner Fred Wilson is a bit of music buff.
“The media type that I spend the most time with on the web is audio. I listen to audio on the fixed and mobile web at least a couple hours a day and sometimes way more than that,” he wrote recently on his blog.
