New York’s most telegenic congressman, Anthony Weiner, appeared on Real Time with Bill Maher on Friday and took aim at what he says is the declining influence of right-wing talk show hosts like Glenn Beck.
“I think there is a limited universe and a limited number of people who are just into crazy right now,” Weiner said. “There are too many important problems to solve.”
Weiner also addressed the news that Clarence Thomas’s wife started a lobbying business. He said that Virginia Thomas “is a walking conflict of interest” and Thomas must recuse himself from any cases involving health care.
Weiner, who is on TV all the time these days, seemed particulary excited about this appearace, tweeting last week about cable’s loose restrictions on profanity.
