O’Toole calls for passage of veto-power bill

Following on the heels of the governor calling for expanded veto powers Wednesday, Sen.  Kevin O’Toole, the Senate Minority Whip, urged Senate President Steve Sweeney  to support S360, which among other things would extend veto power over the minutes of the multi-jurisdictional authorities across the state.

“Governor Christie is absolutely correct when he referred to these authorities as ‘shadow governments,’” O’Toole said in a release. “With his support the Legislature must now act to protect the interests of the taxpayers across the state. This issue is simply too important to neglect any longer,” O’Toole began. “The legislation that I am asking the Senate President to support is a bipartisan measure sponsored by Senator (Loretta) Weinberg and me and colleagues from both sides of the aisle.”
