Jason Post, the affable first deputy spokesman for Mayor Bloomberg, will be leaving. Among Post’s many responsibilities was handling the media for Bloomberg’s Mayor’s Against Illegal Guns Coalition, which, at times, involved pressuring federal lawmakers, as well as local ones in other states. He’s heading to the private sector.
A City Hall source said Post will be replaced by Marc LaVorgna, a deep-voiced member of the press office who has been handling budget issues for a couple of years now. LaVorgna, a NJ native, worked on Obama’s campaign during the primaries here in NY, and with the Port Authority, before joining Bloomberg’s operation.
