Does the West Village have another fashionable denizen?

A mystery buyer has just picked up one of the six Robert A.M. Stern townhouses in back of the record-setting Superior Ink tower. The five-bedroom Neo-Georgian at 60 Bethune Street was just purchased for $10.5 million. That is a good bit below the ask of $11.6 million set in mid-April--a year ago, they were asking more than $13 million--but a broker from Related Sales told The Observer the reason for the price-cut was that the space was being delivered raw, without the finishes from Yabu Pushelberg.

The price is not far from what Marc Jacobs paid for his home four doors down, when he bought 68 Bethune for $10.495 million in December 2009. Only two of the townhouses remain on the market, another five-bedroom for $11.95 million and the seven-bedroom stunner asking an even $14 million.
