marissa campise Venrock Nabs Recently Promoted Principal, Marissa Campise, From GreycroftOne week after being promoted from senior associate to principal at Greycroft Ventures, Marissa Campise has taken a new job as vice president at Venrock’s New York office.

Peter Kafka reports the poach was made with a more aggressive offer. Beyond just the dollars, Campise will also be part of a smaller team and hold a better title.

“The entrepreneurial energy in New York is explosive and this community is creating some of the most exciting new companies around,” said David Pakman, partner at Venrock. “Venrock has had roots in New York since 1969, and today we add Marissa Campise to the team to solidify our position as a leading New York City internet and digital media investor.”

Greycroft’s founder Alan Patricof is probably more closely associated with the New York Venture community than anyone at Venrock, but the latter has been investing in New York since 1969.

“I’ve known Marissa for a little over a year now and just been really impressed with her,” says Pakman. “Culturally our firms tries to look beyond the quick flip, and Marissa has the ability to see beyond the first few features to find companies that can grow in the long run.”

Campise worked on several strong deals at Greycroft, most notably the social media measurement firm Klout.
