After Apologizing For Killing, AMC Announces a Western

This morning, AMC’s head of original programming, Joel Stillerman, apologized to journalists, after a fashion, for The Killing, a show about a murder investigation whose first season featured no conclusive solution to the mystery. “For everybody who was frustrated, we hear you. We would have taken a different approach to managing the expectations about what was going to happen,” said Mr. Stillerman, according to E!

AMC announced a series to run later this year: Hell on Wheels, a period drama about the American West co-starring the rapper Common, to begin its 10-episode run in November–an appetizer before Mad Men returns in 2012.
