The Hollywood Reporter previews Anderson Cooper’s new talk show, Anderson. The newsman has been previewing the concept of the show for reporters–it is to include what Mr. Cooper calls “all the different sides of my personality.” Those sides include a well-known predilection for the Real Housewives franchise, one of “the silly reality shows I’m addicted to.”
Potential types of guests for Mr. Cooper include Lady Gaga-esque pop stars, says producer Jim Murphy (Mr. Cooper interviewed Lady Gaga for 60 Minutes this year) as well as newsmakers like kidnapping victim Jaycee Dugard. The comparison drawn by The Hollywood Reporter is to CNN’s Pi ers Morgan Tonight: a show with the long celebrity and news interviews of the now-departed Oprah, without the lifestyle and service elements beloved by some viewers.
