Jay Fielden learned to parse sentences from Eustace Tilley, and everything else from Anna Wintour. Including hiring!

Today he named Sophie Pera fashion market editor, a Hearst spokesperson wrote.

Ms. Pera was most recently the associate fashion editor at Vogue; she began as Anna Wintour’s assistant in 2007.He also named Kevin Conley Arts Editor.

Mr. Conley was a longtime writer and editor at the New Yorker, where he presumably learned to parse sentences from Eustace Tilley.

We have never seen promises made in a New York Times profile so literally realized. Bravo, Mr. Fielden!
