Wood Is Good

  • “Unique wood-crafted design” is right. This Chelsea apartment has wood ceilings, wood floors and wood shelves. Oddly, we didn’t spot any wood-paneled walls in the listing pictures, but it could just be that a stately den or library is hiding from us.

And if the handsome woodwork “isn’t enough to fall in love,” this building also offers a roof deck, garden, courtyard and fitness center. The 2,003-square-foot place is going for $3.75 million and has three bedrooms.

Added bonus: the apartment has central air, which will help you keep cool in this intense heat.

Hardwood is always a plus with luxury clients. It really does warm things up, especially with the proper lighting. This place is a little dark, but given the right amount of exposure and proper window placement it can work. I have several listings with wood-emphasis like this one, and what they really have going for them is ambient lighting.
