The fall of @condeelevator was less an implosion than an abdication: @condeelevator2 has gone on a follow-spree, hoping that its promise of more maybe-real overheards will bring some anonymous copy-editor or disconnected teen a glimmer of webfame. Here's a field guide to all the Twitter accounts @condeelevator made happen.

Following: 66 (including the Times Magazine's Hugo Lindgren, the Times's David Carr and Brian Stelter, Jezebel's Jessica Coen, and various GQers)

Followers: 20 (including none of the above, but Time's Claire Suddath)

Empty promise: "Let me take over for you" read first and so far only Tweet, which took two attempts, as the first included the hashtag "#YourWelcome."

Sample Tweet: "[...] #YourWelcome"

Probable followers: People who just found out about Rebecca Black.

Following: 283 (including the Times Magazine's Sam Anderson, the Times's Tim Arango and David Leonhardt, and Rolling Stone's Matt Taibbi)

Followers: 76 (including none of the above, but the Atlantic Wire's Gabriel Snyder)

Empty promise: "My contents reveal all." The blog has yet to mention an item in the fridge but has begged reporters to mention them and bragged about its "gritty, barely-gentrified, noir-ish" location.

Sample Tweet: A retweet of someone complimenting the account, in Spanish.

Probable followers: People who just found out that the Times's phone number changing--especially if they hadn't known the phone number to begin with.

Followers: 793 (one has the bio "Socialite. Fashionista. Gold digger. Bergdorf Blonde. Gleek. Blackberry addict."

Empty promise: "Hearst has better elevators than Conde, so shouldn't the high tech moving boxes have better Tweets?"

Sample Tweet: "Marie Claire Guy: SO glad I'm not at Conde. I need more than one cheese cube! MC Girl: OMG I know! I can't survive on less than 3!"

Probable followers: Marie Claire subscribers who didn't get why everyone liked the redhead in The September Issue.

Meanwhile, accused @CondeElevator writer John Jannuzzi used his personal account to Tweet a denial of responsibility and an edit: "I'd like to think mine would have been funnier."
