New Jersey governor Chris Christie loudly proclaims his commitment to eliminating government waste. Now he’s backing it up with a grave fiscal reform: he has cut government incentives for the production of Jersey Shore.
In this memo, Mr. Christie boldly dares to question the public good of Snooki and The Situation: “In this difficult economic climate, the taxpayers of New Jersey should not be forced to subsidize projects such as Jersey Shore,” he writes. He then to proceeds to veto all $420,000 in tax credits extended to the show’s producers.
