Among legislators statewide, Codey still has biggest warchest

The state Election Law Enforcement Commission (ELEC) this morning presented a top-ten list of those legislators with the most campaign cash on hand as of Oct. 7th.

Veteran state Sen. Richard Codey (D-27) leads the pack with $902,159 in the bank, beating old rival state Senate President Steve Sweeney (D-3), who reported $840,410 cash-on-hand.

In third place, veteran state Sen. Shirley Turner (D-15) reports $580,987, followed by state Sen. Donald Norcross (D-5) ($538,035), and state Senate Minority Leader Tom Kean, Jr. (R-21) ($512,971).

Veteran state Sen. Joe Kyrillos (R-13) is next on the list with a closing balance campaign warchest totaling $422,666, followed by state Sen. Paul Sarlo (D-36) ($413,171).

The rest: state Sen. Bob Smith (D-17) ($404,053); state Sen. Nick Scutari ($316,981); and state Senate Majority Leader Barbara Buono (D-18) ($286,004).
