Braithwaite appointed to Atlantic County Freeholder Redistricting Commission

Chief Justice Stuart Rabner today announced the appointment of retired Appellate Division Judge Dennis Braithwaite to the Atlantic County Freeholder Redistricting Commission.
 
The appointment of a fifth member of the commission was made at the request of the co-chairs of the commission, under the provisions of N.J.S.A 40:41A-118, to resolve an impasse in their efforts to certify district boundaries.

Judge Braithwaite retired as an Appellate Division judge in 2005. Since his retirement, he has been a visiting professor at Rutgers Law School –Camden. He was originally appointed to the bench in Atlantic County in 1984, and served for 21 years. Among his assignments, he served as the presiding judge in both the family and criminals divisions of the court. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he received his law degree in 1973.
