    For New Yorkers living East of Eden, life is not as grand as it might seem. This week, The Observer looked at the plight of East Siders as they battle for scraps of open space in their neighborhoods. As they win a waterfront esplanade, they lose a playground or three. Here is a look at some of the parkland coming and going on the East Side.
