Helicopter Crashes Into East River, Some Survivors Rescued

A helicopter crashed into the East River near 34th Street, according to developing news reports.

There’s live coverage of the rescue on CBS (via Daily Intel), which reported that four people have been whisked away on stretchers.

The AP is reporting that five people were onboard. One person swam to shore independently and emergency crews performed CPR on another. Divers are continuing to search. The helicopter is fully submerged.
