Last night, guests filled two apartments at the tony condo complex 15USW in Union Square. The crowd was already enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres when we entered one of the units. Ascending a steel staircase to check our coat, we observed the scene below: young professionals, business people and an array of bon vivants were schmoozing in the posh apartment, celebrating the release of NYO‘s most recent issue.

A giant dining room table was positioned in the middle of the room with stacks of NYO on display. Guests perused the magazine, flipping through the the glossy pages with obvious amusement. The kitchen had been transformed into a servery and bar where caterers were hard at work, carefully arranging platters of mini-sandwiches and pouring drinks for thirsty revelers.

We ventured down the hall and meandered into the second apartment. A young crowd was relaxing on white leather couches, chatting amongst themselves and nibbling on chicken sandwiches. Several guests were peeking through the rooms of the apartment, showing interest in making a real estate investment of their own. Representatives from Brown Harris Stevens Select, the firm managing the building, were on hand, eager to discuss the property with interested individuals.

We headed to the bar where an impressive line up of specialty cocktails were being served. We passed on the “OMG! The OMG cocktail!” (a crowd favorite, it seemed) in favor of “The NYO,” a variation on the wine spritzer. Although we weren’t quite up to the challenge, tequila was the main ingredient in most of the beverages, and guests seemed to appreciate the break from their typical Tuesday evening routines.

We explored the units, mingled with fellow NYO readers and, as the evening was drawing to a close, bid adieu to the pristine apartment building.
