Overall ELEC totals show Dems dominating GOP fundraising

Despite some higher cash-on-hand totals in three key races, Democrats overall continue to show fundraising dominance over Republicans in legislative races.

Excluding the Big Six party committee and leadership accounts, where Republicans lead, Democrats statewide have a 2-1 spending advantage over their rivals with $8,622,004 cash on hand, compared to Republicans, who have $4,671,266, according to ELEC.

Democrats raised $18,543,038 compared to the GOP’s $7,459,878.

They have already spent more than three times what the GOP has on legislative races: $9,926,356 to $2,788,112; in key races, Dems argue that they have focused much more money contacting their candidates to the voters than those individual Republican rivals who at the moment show more cash-on-hand.
