HAMILTON – New look. New identity. Same commitment to health care excellence.
That is the message this week from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton, which unveiled a new logo while announcing a deeper partnership with Robert Wood Johnson Health System and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
“People understand the benefits of a community hospital, but when you have an outstanding community hospital linked with an academic medical center, the benefits are compounded,” RWJ Hamilton President and CEO Skip Cimino said this week while addressing a crowd of approximately 150 people during the annual Report to the Community.
“You end up with great local relationships and personalized care, supported by the health system’s superior diagnostics, technology and specialty care capabilities. Everyone wins,” he said.
Cimino told the audience that the hospital was proud of its national recognition, but he emphasized the importance of the relationship with the Robert Wood Johnson Health System.
“Our health system is extremely proud of RWJ Hamilton’s national recognition this year as a top hospital for emergency medicine,” said Stephen Jones, president and CEO of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and RWJ Health System.
“RWJ Hamilton can count on our Level 1 Trauma Center in New Brunswick – one of only three in the state – to provide the next level of care.”
When RWJ Hamilton’s new Pediatric Emergency Department opens next month, it will be supported by the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, a regional resource for specialized pediatric care.
Over the years, the partnership with UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School has led to major improvements on the Hamilton campus including a cancer center (The Cancer Institute of New Jersey Hamilton), affiliated with The Cancer Institute of New Jersey in New Brunswick, the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in New Jersey.
Recently, the clinical integration brought more advanced technology to RWJ Hamilton’s neurology program and specially trained Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to support the patients of the RWJ Hamilton OB/GYN practice, RWJ Hamilton stated.
As part of the expanded integration, RWJ Hamilton unveiled a new logo that highlights the health system. A new sign on the main building of the RWJ Hamilton campus was lighted Monday night.
