We’re headed into Whitney Biennial speculation season (it opens in March) and The Art Newspaper reports today that the Polish-born New York artist Joanna Malinowska will be among the artists showing there. The museum has not yet revealed any of the artists involved in the biennial, so file this under scuttlebutt for the time being.
Ms. Malinowska is a Guggenheim fellow and a performance, installation and sculpture artist, who shows with Canada gallery. She recently impressed Gallerist editor Andrew Russeth down at NADA Miami Beach with her incessantly tumbling washing machine. Here’s an in-depth interview with her from Artnet in 2009.
Speaking of scuttlebutt, the report reminds us that we’ve been meaning to do some digging on this matter ourselves.
