It’s been an exhausting week, and, having earned a lifetime ban (“earned” being the operative term, it’s an impressive accomplishment, mind) from virtually every media holiday party, we’re looking forward to a low-key night where, with a little luck, we won’t end up wandering the street with two Santa hats as slippers (what, Stefano told us it was sooo een zees season!). So today we’ve decided to take the high road, honing our palate of contemporary European art out in the ‘burbs. The Dia Art Foundation will be hosting the opening of ‘Opus + One,’ the first ever museum show this side of the pond dedicated entirely to the artwork of Jean-Luc Moulène. We¹re looking forward to ogling the 35 three-dimensional “objects” crafted by the plasticien (don’t call them sculptures, that presupposes an aesthetic reference that, God knows, the French simply won’t stand for) and a slew of cityscape photographs to help us maintain our cultural discernment, which, we fear, has gone into hibernation of late.
