The Simpsons Park is a French website that sets stills from The Simpsons alongside the great artworks that inspired them. Some of the references (to Monet, Van Gogh, and Rousseau) are totally explicit. Others are surprisingly subtle: inside jokes by the animators, or tips-of-the hat that we might very easily have missed. There are dozens of examples, each one is delightful, and the cumulative effect is a welcome reminder of the love, good humor, and smarts that went into the best episodes of this long-running series.
