Democratic congressmen won’t be here tonight

U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) just bounded past in the hotel lobby of the Marriott.

But the Democratic members of the New Jersey Congressional delegation won’t be here tonight when Gov. Chris Christie addresses the friends of the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce.

U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman and U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell are fighting for local control.

They have no reason to be here.

Other congressmen have other reasons for not attending, most of which boil down to the fact that Gov. Chris Christie is the only one the chamber gave a microphone to this year.

This just in: Menendez just left the building.
