The East Village has a lot of cool things, like Momofuku and gutterpunks summering in Tompkins Square Park, but it still lacks a big black horse and a cherry tree. Perhaps this helps explain why Scottish folk rocker K.T. Tunstall has sold her home of three years.

Ms. Tunstall, who has earned a Grammy nomination and a BRIT award, bought the duplex at 525 East 11th Street in 2008 for $1.575 million. She put the place on the market last May for $1.695 million, but it ultimately sold for just $1.5 million. Talk about a euro crisis!

According to a listing from Triumph Property Group brokers Adam Disick and Debbie Rauh, the 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath home features a 540-square-foot terrace. Suddenly we see this condo’s appeal—roof for a cherry tree of one’s own.

In addition to the terrace, the lower floor features a kitchen and a heavily windowed living/dining space. Both bedrooms are located on the upper floor. The master suite measures just 130-square feet but includes a walk-in closet (for a clear view of all those folksy threads) and an en suite bathroom.

The home was purchased by Farsad Golnaz, who lists Rancho Mirage, Cali. as his current address on the deed.
