Is there more to Lady Gaga and the New Museum than a Lower East Side home and a book signing? That is what travel and design web show Great Spaces argues in this video, which is a little bit shallow but nonetheless intriguing.

"New York, it's the natural home of the very surreal, in-your-face, Gaga-like museum," the host says. "From the massive steel mesh face to the powerful, fluid design, it has it all, it even has a poker face that could give Lady Gaga a run for her money. This great space is a fame monster."

The Observer agrees that the museum and the musician share quite a bit in common, but not in the way Great Spaces thinks. If anything, the comparisons are cerebral, not superficial: both are commercial (the Dakis Joannou kerfuffle), crowd pleasing (the whole Carsten Höller's "experience") and a little bit tacky (those facades!). But at the end of the day, you can't help but love them both.

And this wouldn't be the first time a starchitect had taken to the starlet.
