It was only a few years ago that the broadcasting deal at 1 World Trade Center collapsed. The potential tenants, represented under the Metropolitan Television Alliance (MTVA), flat out told developers that the deal for an antenna on top of the 102-story building is dead. After heading back to the drawing board, developers have now proposed a new antenna.

It will be the best antenna ever, The Journal reports:

"Our expectations would be to become the premiere broadcast facility in New York City," said Thomas Bow, senior vice president at the Durst Organization, the development firm that controls One World Trade in a partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The building, currently under construction, is slated for completion at the end of 2013.

The Durst Organization is still thinking of a $10 million figure for revenue, rivaling the Empire State Building's price of $16.1 million a year since it took over the broadcasting market when stations went black after September 11th.

Is there really room for both? Never mind the giant elephant in the back of the room.
