Lisa Melandri, the deputy director for exhibitions and programs at the Santa Monica Museum of Art, has been tapped to become director of the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, the Post-Dispatch reports. She will begin in her new role in August. (Thank you to Tyler Green for bringing this to our attention on Twitter.)

The director position at the CAM has been vacant since Paul Ha, a former White Columns director, left to head the MIT List Visual Arts Center in Cambridge, Mass., late last year.

Ms. Melandri earned her master’s in the history of art from Williams College, which has been minting museum directors—Thomas Krens, Michael Govan and Glenn Lowry, among them—for years.

Before joining the SMMA, Ms. Melandri had been in Philadelphia, serving as acting artistic director at the Moore College of Art and Design.
