		<description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Franklin Foer</strong>, brother of Joshua and Jonathan Safran, has returned to the top of <em>The New Republic</em>, <a href="http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/05/20/foer-returns-to-new-republic-as-editor/?ref=media">the <em>Times</em> reported</a> over the weekend. Mr. Foer left the post at the end of 2010 and was succeeded by Richard Just. Mr. Foer's return marks the first major personnel change by the magazine's new owner, Facebook founder <strong>Chris Hughes</strong>, who plans to hire 15 and open a New York office in hopes of competing with <em>The New Yorker</em> and <em>The Economist</em>. <em>The Times</em> strangely omitted Mr. Just's standing at the magazine, but <a href="http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/05/20/new-republic-franklin-foer-chris-hughes_n_1531479.html?ref=media">The Huffington Post</a> reported that he is leaving the magazine. Mr. Just's departure reportedly surprised some, considering his editorial talent and his part in facilitating Mr. Hughes' takeover.</p>
