Essentially Every Artist Makes Jewelry

A special report from today’s edition of The International Herald Tribune tells us that nearly every famous artist, past and present, has made jewelry of some kind.

This is an exaggeration but here are the names we found in the five seconds we took to glance over the article again for this purpose: Ugo Rondinone, Alexander Calder, Man Ray, André Derain Pablo Picasso, Max Ernst, Jean Cocteau and Roberto Matta.

While not a trend piece, it’s a fine recent history of the practice, if you are interested in this sort of thing.
