Garodnick Raises For Comptroller Bid

City Councilman Dan Garodnick already has nearly $1 million in the bank for his upcoming bid to be City Comptroller, and, if John Liu follows through on his promise to run for mayor, will have the field to himself.

But that is no excuse to not raise money, and today Mr. Garodnick’s campaign emailed out an invitation to an event two weeks hence at the restaurant Sprig in the Lipstick Building in Midtown.

Among some of the recognizable names on the event’s host committee are big-time Democratic fundraiser Dennis Mehiel;  former lieutenant governor Richard Ravitch; power lawyer Ted Wells; Arthur Leopold, who gained some notoriety in the last presidential campaign as a teenage bundler for Obama; Michael Woloz of the Metropolitan Taxicab Board of Trade; City Council candidate Brad Hoylman; one time teenage Council candidate Dodge Landesmann; Democratic fundraiser Sally Minard; State Committeewoman Trudy Mason; Carolyn Maloney aide Brice Peyre; and fiery LGBT activist Allen Roskoff.
