Stormfront Supremacists Planning 'Practical Politics Seminar'

  • A new home for Meg Ryan?
    Start The Slideshow

Is Meg Ryan sleepless in her rental pad at 40 Mercer Street? Well, the romantic comedy queen has recently been checking out downtown condos with pools, according to the New York Post.

Ms. Ryan has reportedly been looking at a $19.9 million apartment in The Marble House, the landmark American Express carriage house building and “quite simply the finest residence available in Manhattan,” according to the listing. The 6-bedroom townhouse-like residence at 60 Collister Street received a custom make-over from design connoisseur and movie producer Stuart Parr, creating a 9,000 “custom-crafted, bespoke residence.” There’s also a 24-hour doorman and private self-parking (how quaint!).

The Marble House pad also includes many varieties of marble interiors (very literal) and tons of other extravagant, exotic materials: rift and quarter-sawn White Oak floors, nickel-plated hardware and blackened steel. It’s listed with Douglas Elliman brokers John Gomes and Fredrik Eklund. And, with a neighbor like Jenna Lyons, Ms. Ryan will never be at a loss over what to wear again.

But it’s not the only place Ms. Ryan has been considering of late. There’s also Leonardo Dicaprio’s $5.25 million Tribeca spread at 51 Walker Street, also listed with Mr. Gomes and Mr. Eklund. The 3-bedroom place has a private garden and an outdoor swimming pool with jacuzzi. The 3-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom townhouse condo also has a full-sized wine cooler and a sauna with steam shower. Plus, Mr. Dicaprio appears eager to sell. Not only did he recently change brokers, but the place has a half-million price cut.

Will Ms. Ryan find true love with one of these Tribeca apartments? Or will she keep searching for the one?
