Parkside Group, a prominent political consulting company involved in a plethora of campaigns around the state, but especially New York City, is expanding, the firm announced today. In addition to promoting Jake Dilemani to Vice President, they’ve hired AJ Schmitz, Ron Kim and Pat McKenna.
Mr. Schmitz, the press release explained, will be the company’s new Creative Director. He previously worked as an art director at HBO and the History Channel. Mr. Kim and Mr. McKenna, meanwhile, will be hired as Associates. Mr. Kim is a former staffer for two New York governors, the City Council, and then-Assemblyman Mark Weprin, in addition to being a former Vice President of the Korean American Association of Greater New York. For his part, Mr. McKenna is an established New Jersey political operative who has worked multiple campaigns in and around the Garden State.
“Jake Dilemani and Ron Kim are veterans of New York government and politics, and while Pat McKenna is a native of upstate New York he cut his teeth in New Jersey and Pennsylvania on some of the nation’s toughest campaigns,” the president of the Parkside Group, Harry Giannoulis, said in the statement announcing the expansion. “The addition of these talented professionals, along with our new creative Director AJ Schmitz, will enable us to better serve our clients and meet the demands of our growing business. We are excited to have them in the Parkside family.”
Parkside, which is close with the Democrats in the State Senate and the Queens Democratic establishment in particular, will be at the center of a lot of notable races in New York this election cycle as the Democrats attempt to retake their short-lived majority in the State Senate.
