Report: Leon Black Is Mystery Buyer of $120 M. ‘The Scream’


Financier Leon Black, number 107 on the Forbes list of the wealthiest people in the world and a member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s board, is the mystery buyer who purchased the 1895 pastel of Edvard Munch’s The Scream, which was put up at auction on May 2 at Sotheby’s and sold for $120 million, The Wall Street Journal reports. The purchase set the record as the highest price ever paid at auction for a work of art.
