The Brandywine River Museum, in Chadds Ford, Pa., which focuses on American art, announced today that it has named Thomas Padon as its new director. He’ll take the helm of the museum in September.
Mr. Padon comes to the museum from the Vancouver Art Gallery, where he served as assistant director and director of international partnerships. Interestingly, he was based in New York in that position.
“I am inspired by the way this singular museum—with its stellar collection, committed board and bucolic setting on land the Brandywine Conservancy has carefully preserved—pays homage to American art,” Mr. Padon said in a statement.
The Brandywine is home to the house and studio of N.C. Wyeth, and the studio of his son, Andrew Wyeth.
Congratulations, Mr. Padon.
